Side panels installed on Fuel tank.jpg - The chrome side panels are mounted with the painted inserts. I had forgotten to chase the mounting nuts on the sides of the fuel tank with a tap, and with all the paint on the tank, I wasn't able to get the chrome nuts to start. I chased them, and even removed the last wing mounting bolt to get enough room to chase the lower nut plates as well. I put three gallons in the tank, and the petrol warning light is still on. The drain plug was seeping. Tightinening it stopped the leak and the smell!
